Brews, Booze, & Reviews | Ep. 107 – Bottle-share #1
Welcome to a brand-new experiment: an ALL-GUESTS bottle share chat! Nox gets together with a couple returning guests, and a new one! Don, Blake, Alex from Terps Candy, and Sam from DrumConRath Brewing are back and welcome newcomer Jarek Kath of Proof Distillery here in Fargo, ND. Each person brought their own beverage to sample out (we forgot Alex’s in this one), and we sample and review some great choices! We find out how a brewer will make a barleywine, we chat conspiracy theories about Big Vanilla and Big Sugar, we find out the difference between a pot still and a column still, and how did moonshiners go blind, we get a lesson onbhow to enjoy a bourbon pour, and a distiller ( Jarek ) educates about barrels.
In this lengthy, highly educating episode, we sample and review Boulevard’s Tank 7 Saison, Firestone Walker’s 2016 Helldorado Barleywine, Haye’s Public House’s The Morrigan barrel aged black IPA, Turning Point Brewing’s Lasercannon Deth Sentence barrel aged stout, Deschites 2017 The Abyss aged in rum barrels, Foursquare’s 2008 single blended Barbados rum, and Proof’s Crooked Furrow bourbon.
