Scott is the Executive Director of Independence, Inc., a Minot, North Dakota-based Center for Independent Living. Scott has a demonstrated history of working in the non-profit organization management industry and is skilled in nonprofit organizations, grassroots organizing, event management, coalitions, and philanthropy. He founded Minot’s first family homeless shelter.
He has a 20-year history of advocating for those in need and hosts his own podcast, “The Nonprofit Thoughts Podcast.”
Independence, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit committed to empowering individuals with disabilities, seniors, and people with behavioral health disorders to live independently. They are a non-residential, community-based, consumer-controlled agency that provides a variety of enrichment services designed to help North Dakotans with disabilities escape dependency, emerge from poverty, maximize self-sufficiency, and actively participate in community life.
