Tudors Dynasty | In Her Words: Thus Bestowed On Me the Name of Sophia

In the last episode we learned about Elizabeth Stuart, Queen of Bohemia, and in that episode there was reference made to her daughter Sophia. This season I’ll be presenting Sophia’s book, Memoirs of Sophia, Electress of Hanover 1630-1680. But, as noted by our last guest Professor Dr Nadine Akkerman, this book is written as satire, and should be taken as such.

Images of people Sophia mentions in her writings:

Elizabeth Stuart, daughter of James VI/I and Queen of Bohemia; Portrait as a widow.

Frederick, King of Bohemia

Sophia

Her sisters: Elisabeth, Louise and Henriette

Amalia of Solms-Braunfels (Princess consort of Orange)

Louise Henriette (Princess of Nassau)

The Queen – Henrietta Maria

The King – Charles I

Prince of Wales – Charles (in exile)
